How we make money
Short version: if you sign up for a tool through a link on this site, the vendor usually pays us a referral fee. It costs you nothing extra. QuoteIQ is featured as our top pick and is also our featured affiliate partner; other rankings come from our review.
The model
TradeStack Review is free to read and reader-supported through affiliate commissions. Several of the vendors we review — including QuoteIQ, Jobber, Housecall Pro and Workiz — run affiliate programs. When you start a trial or subscribe through one of our links, they pay us a one-time or recurring referral fee. The price you pay is exactly the same as going direct.
Our featured partner: QuoteIQ
QuoteIQ is our featured partner: if you sign up through our links we earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. We've used QuoteIQ ourselves and it is the first tool we recommend most small shops try, so it sits at the top of our roundups. That placement is part of the partnership, and we say so on every page that features it. Our QuoteIQ review lists its limits as well as its strengths, and QuoteIQ facts on this site come only from its own published pages and our use of it.
What this does and doesn't affect
- It does not affect your price. Our links carry the same pricing as the vendor's own site.
- It sets one placement, and we say so. QuoteIQ is featured as our top pick and is also our featured affiliate partner; other rankings come from our review. Some tools we recommend highly — like certain quote-only or enterprise tools — pay us little or nothing.
- We include tools that don't pay us when they're the right answer (ServiceTitan and FieldPulse, for example).
- Affiliate links are marked and we note the relationship on every page that uses them.
What we don't do
Apart from the QuoteIQ partnership described above, we don't take payment to change a ranking. We don't publish vendor-written reviews as our own, and we're not owned by any of the companies we cover. If a tool gets worse, we say so on the page, commission or not.
How affiliate links are marked
Every outbound vendor link that can earn us a fee is tagged rel="sponsored" in the page code, which is the signal search engines ask for, and each roundup carries a disclosure paragraph above the picks and a note beside every affiliate button. Links to our own guides, such as what field service software really costs, earn nothing.
How often we re-check
Pricing is the thing most likely to go stale, so we re-check every vendor's published pricing page monthly and date the check on each page. Quote-only tools stay marked "quote required" until the vendor publishes a number; we do not guess.
Corrections and independence
If you spot an out-of-date price or a claim that does not hold up, use the contact page and we will verify and fix it on the page. Vendors get the same channel and no more: they cannot preview a review or approve a ranking, and beyond the QuoteIQ partnership disclosed above, no one can buy a spot in the roundup. More on who we are and how we test is on the about page.
